Clavea ReShape - Lipolytic mesotherapy
Interview with Dr. Tamar Khakhishvili

Lipolytic Mesotherapy: A Modern Approach to Fat Reduction
Lipolytic mesotherapy is a popular procedure designed to reduce and eliminate localized fat deposits. This process helps break down fat, which is then naturally eliminated from the body.
We sat down with Dr. Tamar Khakhishvili to gain insights into how this innovative treatment works.
Can you explain how lipolytic mesotherapy works?
Lipolytic mesotherapy is not a one-time fix—it requires a series of treatments. The length of the course depends on the thickness of the fat layer and the size of the target area. During a consultation, we determine the number of sessions needed (a minimum of three) to achieve optimal results.
The interval between treatments is customized to each patient, but I usually recommend leaving at least 10 to 14 days between the first two sessions. This slight delay creates a healthy stress on the fat tissue. For the subsequent treatments, I tend to extend the intervals, and this approach has yielded excellent results in my practice.
The procedure is done via micro-injections, and after each session, there are some recommendations: avoid alcohol and tanning for 7 to 10 days, increase physical activity, and consider local or general lymphatic drainage massages. Drinking plenty of water is also essential for detoxification.
It’s also important to avoid hot showers for the first 24 hours after treatment.
How long do the results last?
The longevity of the results varies from person to person and depends on lifestyle, diet, and age. For instance, I’ve had patients maintain their results for up to two years, while others experienced a shorter duration of around eight months. It really depends on how well the patient maintains a healthy routine post-treatment.
Who is a good candidate for lipolytic mesotherapy?
Both men and women can benefit from lipolytic mesotherapy, as long as they are over 18 years of age. It's crucial not to interfere with a teenager’s metabolism using lipolytics. In Georgia, I've noticed a significant increase in male patients seeking self-care treatments. Today, around 40% of our lipolytic mesotherapy clients are men, focusing mainly on areas like the stomach and pubic region, while women typically target the stomach, waist, legs, arms, and face.
Can you tell us about the benefits of Clavea ReShape?
Clavea ReShape is a premium mesotherapy product specifically designed to target fat breakdown and enhance lymphatic drainage. One of the standout aspects of this product is its comfort—patients often find it less painful than other lipolytics, and many see visible results within just seven days.
Its main active ingredients, such as phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate, work together to break down fat cells, reduce fat deposits, and improve skin density. Carnitine helps burn fat, while horse chestnut seed extract boosts microcirculation and skin firmness. The formula is further enriched with botanical extracts like artichoke, troxerutin, and Camellia Sinensis, which enhance skin elasticity and promote a smoother, tighter appearance.
What advice would you give to patients considering lipolytic mesotherapy?
Here are some key things to keep in mind:
Lipolytics must be injected into the fat layer. Injecting into the wrong tissue could lead to unwanted side effects like tissue necrosis.
If a patient has liver issues or a history of liver dysfunction, it’s crucial to either avoid lipolytic treatments or adjust the dosage accordingly. Since the fat is broken down and processed by the liver, any liver-related issues should be taken into account before proceeding with treatment.
